For Researchers

The Acts Center for Applied Research (ACAR) actively seeks partnerships with other nonprofit organizations who share our vision of enhancing the quality of life for older adults and their families.

At ACAR, we recognize the importance of research related to successful aging and also that one of the great challenges of conducting this research is to gain access to a population of participants.

This is where ACAR can play an invaluable role—by connecting institutions in the worlds of academia, health care, government, and senior housing with participants from among Acts’ resident population of nearly 10,000 people. This population includes residents in independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing settings.

Typically we find residents eager to take part in relevant and interesting studies. ACAR identifies and registers these participants. Neither the residents nor ACAR are compensated for their role in the process.

In addition, for partners seeking engagement with staff for research, Acts employs about 6,500 team members.

If you are a representative of an organization that would like to explore partnering with the Acts Center for Applied Research, contact us so we can begin the conversation. We are eager to hear from you.

The ACAR Advantage

As the research division of Acts Retirement-Life Communities, the nation’s largest not-for-profit operator of continuing care retirement communities, ACAR can provide researchers access to study participants drawn from a population of nearly 10,000 residents, most age 75 and older, living in 26 campuses in nine states.
