How do retirement community residents in Australia and the U.S. compare in their motivations and experiences?
This comparative study is looking at varied factors at work among Americans and Australians when it comes to the decision to move to a retirement community.
The University of Canberra in Australia conducted a study among Australian retirement community residents regarding their motivations for moving to a retirement community and their experiences living there. Thanks to more than 200 Acts residents from nine communities who participated in the U.S. leg of the study, we’ll soon see how Acts residents’ motivations and experiences compare to their Australian counterparts.
This study investigates changes in health, psychological well-being and social networks, attitudes toward retirement community living and personality factors influencing decisions to move.
The data collection is complete, and analysis of the results is underway.
